The school is divided into 2 main classes.
In Keystage 1: Foundation / Nursery and Foundation / Reception Children work in the Foundation room, alongside them are the Year 1 and Year 2 children who work in the keystage 1 room. It is a flexible organisation which enables children to access a practically based curriculum at their own level.
Nursery and Reception: Work within the 6 areas of learning in the Foundation stage curriculum: Language Literacy and Communication, Maths Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
Key stage 1 & 2 As children move into Year 1 through to Year 6 the focus of each morning is on Literacy and numeracy with the wide range of National Curriculum subjects being covered during the afternoons, such as Art / Craft, PE, Geography, History, ICT, DT, RE, PSHE and Citizenship and Science.
We aim for all children to reach their potential, for all to be numerate and able to read and write by the age of 11. All children follow the National Curriculum and have moved towards a topic based approach to cover foundation subjects ensuring full coverage as per the curriculums requirements.
